Tuchel confirms he could send players to play for Chelsea U23

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he could clear some of the first-team players to play for the relegation-threatened Under-23 side in a game to win on Sunday.
It might come as a surprise to those who don’t follow the academy and the development team, in particular, but Chelsea U23 are in a bad place at the moment.
The young Blues sit in 13th place, second bottom, in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table with just six wins from 25 matches.
Well, many talented U23s are on loan. Therefore, except for a few, the U23s are mostly teenage talents who also play for the Under-18 teams.

Chelsea U23 can still escape relegation if they can win against sixth-placed Tottenham Hotspur U23 on Sunday.
Obviously, the club would like the U23 team to stay in the first division and continue playing against higher level opponents.
It has been reported that the club will send senior players to play in the crucial match as competition rules allow each team to field four players over the age of 23 (one goalkeeper, three outfield players).
Tuchel confirmed the plan after the 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday, although he declined to name the players.
“Yes, we will decide first, then we will tell you,” said the German in his post-match press conference when asked if any of his players would play for the U23s.
According to Goal Nizaar KinsellaTrevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr are among the first-team players who could feature on Sunday.
Henry Lawrence, Juan Castillo and Mason Burstow, who are expected to be back from Ligue 1 loans, could also participate.
