Frontier Kite Fly scheduled for June 6 in Naperville
Steady winds at the Frontier Sports Complex on the south side of Naperville provide the perfect atmosphere for kite flying.
On Sunday, June 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the kite experts at Chicago Kite will bring an incredible fleet of kites – some 90 feet long – to dazzle and inspire participants of the Naperville Park District Frontier Kite Fly, presented by The Branch.
Participants can also enjoy flying kites at this free event, either by bringing their own kites or purchasing them on site from Chicago Kite.
“The kids will be delighted to see the colorful kites fill the sky,” said Beth Durso, program manager. “It’s a fun way for families and people of all ages to kick off the summer season.”
The event will also include free entertainment, featuring Ken Schultz the Flying Fool, presenting a juggling show at 1 p.m. and Scribble Monster, performing to children’s music at 2 p.m.
Rose Street Eats and Jimmy John’s food trucks will be on hand, offering food for purchase.
Frontier Sports Complex is located at 3380 Cedar Glade Drive, just south of Neuqua Valley High School. Parking is available in the park.
Participants are urged to review the participation guidelines for programs and facilities before participating. The District of Naperville Park follows guidelines issued by the State of Illinois as part of the Restore Illinois plan and developed by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunities (DCEO) and the Department of Public Health of Illinois (IDPH); these guidelines can be found here: www.napervilleparks.org/coronavirus.
