Five Major Tourism Developments Opening in Qatar Ahead of
DOHA, Qatar, July 20 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ kicking off in November, an assortment of exciting new tourism developments will open across the country. From a winter sun wonderland to a watersports paradise, these developments each add something special to the peninsula’s eclectic mix of attractions and activities to suit every type of traveler.
One year after Qatar reopened its borders to the world on July 12, 2021, Qatar Tourism unveils the latest attractions that will build on the extensive tourism development strategy of recent years. Qatar aims to capitalize on the influx of over one million visitors expected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and show the world its hidden gems and unmissable vacation potential.

Five upcoming grand openings
Pack your sunglasses and sunscreen for the Doha Winter Wonderland, which launches in Qatar later this year on a sandy island. Instead of the freezing temperatures that greet visitors to the famous sister event in London’s Hyde Park, travelers to Doha Winter Wonderland will be able to relax on the beach in delightful average temperatures of around 20°C.
Doha Winter Wonderland will feature beachfront chalets, restaurants, festival games, 50 rides and cafes, bringing the festive spirit to the Middle East.
Located near Lusail City, just north of Qatar’s capital, the upcoming 200,000 square meter attraction will be operated by IMG (International Marketing Group), the same company that runs Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park each year.
Fuwairit Kite Beach (FKB)
FKB is a future state-of-the-art kitesurf resort in Fuwairit. Fuwairit is a coastal village an hour’s drive north of Doha with excellent kitesurfing conditions thanks to consistent winds, ideal sea water and fine sand.
The resort is designed around the kitesurfer lifestyle with everything you need for the water and even more when you’re out. There will be a yoga studio, a fully equipped gym, restaurants, a swimming pool and much more.
Al Barari Outpost
The Outpost will be the first of its kind in Qatar, integrating close-to-nature experiences, sustainability and luxury hospitality in a beautiful resort located in the world’s unique Inland Sea Nature Reserve.

Covering 1.3 million square meters, the island is close to Lusail Stadium, where the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ final will take place.
West Bay North Beach Project
West Bay North Beach is a vast new tourist development under construction, covering 40,000 square meters of an upscale beachfront in the heart of Doha. The public and private beaches will offer three distinct beach experiences with a wide variety of food and drink, to create a sought-after urban beach experience for all to enjoy.
