Eye-catching kites at Revere Beach on the last day of summer

A Massachusetts man spent the last day of summer doing what he loves – flying kites on the beach. Richard Salvo took out eye-catching kites at Revere Beach on Tuesday. One was in the shape of SpongeBob SquarePants and another in the shape of a smiley face. He also flew a squid-shaped kite and another circular kite that looked like a UFO. âIt’s my passion. It’s my hobby,â Salvo said. Salvo said Wednesday was a “perfect day to play” at Revere Beach thanks to the southeast wind. âAnd there is a lot of soft sand, even when the tide is rising,â he added. Salvo said he has been flying kites on area beaches since the early 1980s and usually does so in Nahant.
