Doraha, January 14
The Doraha police decided to raid regularly to catch the sellers of the banned Chinese twine and convict them for the offence. In a unique effort, the police also made special announcements around the city, especially for parents of children who somehow obtain the string and use it to fly kites. .
Doraha SHO Harminder Singh met with traders and gave instructions regarding its sale. He warned that he should not be sold to people at any cost.
“I told traders not to sell Chinese twine. I have also met parents of children who claim the thong. I have instructed the public to keep an eye out and notify the police as soon as they get any information about this. Their references will remain confidential. Either way, it should be a joint effort of the police and the public. Social
sites from which sellers and buyers make contact should be strictly monitored and banned,” the SHO said.
“We have decided to take strong action against traders and carry out raids to control the sale of plastic and Chinese twine. When there have been so many losses due to the chain, why can’t we think of banning it altogether? No vendor will be allowed to take the law into their own hands,” he said.
“We have set up special teams who will move around in civilian clothes to identify children using such strings. We also raided some stores. Although we were unable to recover the string, I think the action is quite good for traders who are selling the same. We will continue to raid stores regularly. We may have to watch children who use it to fly kites, which can not only prove fatal to themselves but also to their neighbours, commuters and birds,” he said. he declares.
