The police recovered 51 Kalashnikovs, 382 rifles, 211 rifles, 3330 pistols, 04 rifles, 29 revolvers and more than 40,000 bullets from these criminals.
During the action against drug traffickers, police arrested up to 5,056 criminals and registered 4,943 FIR against them in the past six months and recovered from them over 36 kg of heroin, over 2302 kg of charas, over 11 kg of ICE, 103 kg of opium and 56,286 liters of alcohol. Likewise, Lahore Police arrested 2,271 criminals involved in gambling and registered 454 cases against them, recovering them over 48,000 rupees and 73,000 gambling money.
In addition, 549 Category A Proclaimed Offenders, 4729 Category B POs, 1010 Targeted Offenders while 1559 Defendants were arrested during this year. Lahore Police also arrested 8,514 accused of violating the kite theft law and recovered more than 58,000 and 929 kites as well as 10,085 ropes. CCPO Lahore said using legally entrusted authority to serve suffering humanity can only be helpful in improving the overall image of the police department.
He said that the institutional structure of the different units of Lahore Police is being strengthened to improve the performance of the force.
Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that on the instructions of Punjab IG Inam Ghani, special teams were formed for the arrest of reported and targeted offenders while the performance of the Riot Force, Dolphin Squad and Unit police intervention had also been reorganized.
